Grants will be open for internal projects as well as for external initiatives. Start-ups, resulting from vigorous ideas elaborated within the community, are the most evident examples of what is meant by internal projects. An external Request for Grant will require a project that is not-for-profit orientated, focusing on sustainable solutions and self-reliance, and related to unemployment.
Procedure
Step 1: Request for Grant
Any member can post a Request for Grant. The applicant will have to fill in a form with more detailed and relevant information such as the project's goals, a brief SWOT-analysis (Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) and financial plan as well as specific benefits meeting the Foundation's main goals (sustainability, self-reliance and unemployment). From the moment that a request is posted, all members will be notified by e-mail.
Step 2: Laureates
These requests will show up in a Request Overview and members will be able to review and vote on each request. Voting will be strictly limited for a predefined period of time and will only be legitimate when a minimum quorum is reached. A request will acquire the status of Laureate if it scores for at least 60% of the votes.
Step 3: Choosing a Winner
After the voting period, an Overview of Laureates will be posted. Again, all members will be notified by e-mail and invited to choose a winner by ranking the Laureates. The results will not be published unless the period of ranking has expired, to avoid influenced and subjective decision making.
Step 4: Winners
The winning project will be granted and added to a list of previous winning projects, accompanied with summarized information, a link to the website, the date of assignment and the amount received.
